Friðbjörn Oddsson fæddist í S.Þingeyjarsýslu 24. desember, 1830. Maki: Katrín Sigurðardóttir f. 2. desember, 1824 í S. Þingeyjarsýslu. Börn: 1. Sigursteinn f. 14. júlí, 1863 2. Helgi Valdimar f.1867. Þau fluttu til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1883 þar sem þau bjuggu til ársins 1888 en þá fluttu þau í Lundarbyggð.
