Jón Tryggvi Jónsson fæddist í Húnavatnssýslu 14. júní, 1875. Bergman vestra. Dáinn í Alberta árið 1941. Ókvæntur og barnlaus. Jón lærði söðla- og skósmíði á Íslandi áður en hann flutti vestur til Winnipeg árið 1900. Þar vann hann verkamannavinnu fyrsta árið en fór í gulleit til Klondyke árið 1901 og hafði nokkuð upp úr krafsinu. Fór þaðan aftur til Íslands …
