Einar Guðmundsson fæddist í Ísafjarðarsýslu 17. október, 1859. Maki: Guðbjörg Guðmundsdóttir fæddist í Barðastrandarsýslu 1. febrúar, 1865. Börn: 1. Sigurbjörn Jón f. 6. júní, 1884, d.  26. mars, 1919 2. Guðmundur Friðgeir f. 1893 3. Ari Kristinn f. 1896. Þau fluttu til Vesturheims árið 1897 og settust að í Nýja Íslandi.
