Sigurður Andrésson fæddist í Barðastrandarsýslu árið 1841. Anderson vestra. Maki: Hildur Jósefína Jónsdóttir f. 1838 í Snæfellsnessýslu. Börn: 1. Jón Hjaltalín f. 1871 2. Hjalti f. árið 1875. Þau fluttu vestur til Manitoba árið 1887 og voru fyrst í Winnipeg. Þaðan fluttu þau í Hólarbyggð í Saskatchewan.
