Guðni Sigurðsson fæddist í Borgarfjarðarsýslu árið 1862. Halla Eggertsdóttir fæddist í Dalasýslu 12. apríl, 1864, d. 29. júlí, 1920. Börn: 1. Eggert Friðrik f. 1888 2. Guðni Halldór. Þau fluttu til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1888. Samferða þeim vestur voru systur Höllu, þær Guðrún 19 ára og Helga 17 ára.
