Víglundur Vigfússon fæddist árið 1863 í Árnessýslu. Maki: Sigríður Þorsteinsdóttir f. í Borgarfjarðarsýslu árið 1863 Börn: 1. Steinunn f. 1894 2. Þorsteinn f. 1900. Þau áttu fleiri börn vestra. Fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1900 og settust fyrst að í Selkirk. Þaðan fóru þau vestur í Þingvallasýslu í Saskatchewan árið 1903 og námu land.
