Með Ingibjörgu Jóhannesdóttur 1. Svanfríður f. 1879. Sigmundur flutti vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba með Svanfríði árið 1889. Bjó þar alla tíð.

Ragnhildur Gísladóttir fæddist árið 1860 í N. Múlasýslu: Maki: 1) Einar Halldórsson f. 1856 2) Helgi Pétursson d. í N. Dakota árið 1912. Börn: með Einari 1. Björgvin f. 1885 2. Einhildur. Með Helga 1. Haraldur. Rahnhildur og Einar fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1889, Ragnhildur bjó með Helga í Fjallabyggð í N. Dakota.
