Sigmar Friðbjarnarson fæddist 19. júlí, 1870 í S. Þingeyjarsýslu. Maki: Ólöf Magnúsdóttir f. í S. Þingeyjarsýslu 5. desember, 1872. Börn: 1. Sigtryggur f. 1905 2. Sigurður f. 1908. Fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1910 og settust að í Glenboro.
