Björn Jónasson fæddist í N.. Þingeyjarsýslu árið 1847. Maki: Guðrún Kristjánsdóttir f. 1861. Börn: upplýsingar vantar. Þau fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1883 og þaðan lá leiðin til Pembina í N. Dakota. Námu þar land en bjuggu þar stutt.
