Sveinbjörn Tryggvi Sófóníasson fæddist í Eyjafjarðarsýslu árið 1863. Maki: Snjólaug Runólfsdóttir f. í Eyjafjarðarsýslu árið 1863. Börn: 1. Margrét Sveinbjarnardóttir f. 1885. Þau fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1887 og fóru til Nýja Íslands. Þar námu þau land í Víðirnesbyggð og nefndu Hvarf. Fóru þaðan rétt fyrir aldamót.
