Guðlaugur Jóhannesson fæddist í Skagafjarðarsýslu árið 1850. Maki: Guðrún Jónsdóttir f. 1850. Börn: 1. Þorsteinn f. 1876 2. Guðrún Þau fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1883. Þau settust að á landi sínu í Lundarbyggð árið 1896, bjuggu þar einhvern tíma en flutt svo alfarin til Winnipeg.
