Anna Soffía Pétursdóttir fæddist í Skagafjarðarsýslu árið 1815. Dáin í Víðirnesbyggð í Nýja Íslandi árið 1899. Ekkja. Hún flutti vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba með börnum sínum, Sigríði Sveinsdóttur, 34 ára og Skúla Sveinssyni, 28 ára, árið 1883. Annað barn hennar, Þorvaldur Sveinsson fór vestur árið 1881.  Þau bjuggu í Nýja Íslandi.
