Þórður Jóhannesson fæddist í Hnappadalssýslu árið 1851. Maki: Sigurveig Gísladóttir fæddist í N. Þingeyjarsýslu árið 1856. Barnlaus. Þórður flutti vestur til Kanada árið 1883 og fór til Winnipeg. Þangað kom Sigurveig árið 1887 og fluttu þau til Seattle árið 1889. Þaðan fóru þau svo til Blaine árið 1904.
