Benóní Jónsson fæddist í Mýrasýslu árið 1831. Maki: Margrét Bjarnadóttir f. í Húnavatnssýslu árið 1843. Börn: 1. Jónas Björn f. 1878 2. Sigríður f. 1881 3. Jóhanna Þau fluttu vestur til Winnipeg í Manitoba árið 1886 og settust að í Argylebyggð.
