Halldór came to the West in 1887 with his parents, Halldór Halldórsson and Kristín Pálsdóttir. They settled in the Lundar Settlement in Manitoba. Halldór worked in many places in Manitoba, joined the Canadian Army and was in France 1916-1918. When he came back, he worked in transport in Winnipeg for a while, then moved to the Lundar Settlement where he had a farm.
