Ármann Þórðarson was born in Borgarfjarðarsýsla on December 31, 1868. He died on November 13, 1929 in the Lundar settlement.
Spouse: 1) Steinunn Þórðardóttir b. 1873 in Borgarfjarðarsýsla, d. in Manitoba 1904 2) Solveig Bjarnadóttir b. June 2, 1870, d. October 28, 1958.
Children: With Steinunn: 1. Sigríður b. July 1, 1892, d. 1944. With Solveig: 1. Rútur Thor b. 1910, d. 1969 2. Dóra b. December 3, 1911 3. Kristín (Christine) b. May 17, 1914.
Ármann came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1903. He settled in the Lundar settlement and lived there the rest of his life. Solveig came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1897 with her husband, Jón Þorvaldsson, who died in 1907.

Ármann built a corn mill on his land, which he later moved to Lundar. The business did not go well because corn did not grow well in the area. So he turned the mill into a carpentry workshop. Photo: WtW
