Sigurður Pálsson was born in 1854 in W. Skaftafellssýsla. He took the last name Scheving in the west.
Unmarried and childless.
Sigurður was the son of Páll Scheving and Sigríður Sigurðardóttir in Garðir. He came west in 1888 and moved to Victoria on Vancouver Island. Helgi Þorsteinsson, Sigurður’s friend, and his wife Dagbjört were there. He accompanied them to Point Roberts, Washington six years later and lived with them there after that. He seemed like a good carpenter and worked on it all his life.
