Ragnheiður Jóhannsdóttir Straumfjörð was born in Mikley on February 5, 1878.

Spouse: February 5, 1898  Ágúst Magnússon b. October 25, 1863 in Húnavatnssýsla, d. in Lundar on February 24, 1953. He had the name August Magnusson in the west.

Children: 1. Agnar Rae b. June 2, 1900 2. Jóhann Magnús b. June 15, 1905 3. Kristberg Margeir b. May 18, 1910. They took in foster children Alexandra, Magný and Ágústa, the daughters Rósa who died when they were young.

Ragnheiður was the daughter of Jóhann Elíasson Straumfjörð and Kristbjörg Jónsdóttir, who came west in 1876. Ágúst came west to Canada in 1887. He and Bergmann Þorbergsson of Árnessysla got jobs on arrival in Quebec with the Hudson Bay Company transporting goods in the north of the province. He worked there for two years but then moved west to Brandon, Manitoba where his parents, Magnús Mágnússon and Margrét Jónsdóttir, as well as his brother Guðmundur and sisters Rósa and Guðrún had arrived. From there the family moved north to the Ísafoldar settlement in New Iceland. They lived for a while in Mikley and Ágúst worked there as a lighthouse keeper, but in 1903 Ágúst and Ragnheiður moved to their own land in the Shoal Lake settlement (Grunnavatnsbyggð). They lived there until 1941, then moved to Lundar.
