Valgerður was the daughter of Þorgrímur Sigurðsson and Magnea Geirsdóttir in the Framnes settlement. Stefán was the son of Brynjólfur Eiríksson and Eygerður Jónsdóttir who came west from N. Múlasýsla in 1905. Valgerður and Stefán moved west to Vancouver in 1945 where Stefán worked in a workshop.
