Andrés Edward Guðmundsson was born in Arborg on April 27, 1919. He was known as Eddie Gudmundson in the west.
Spouse: October 8, 1944 Esther Valdheiður Ingvadóttir b. September 17, 1924 in Arborg, Manitoba, d. in Winnipeg on September 22, 1978. She had the last name Erickson in the west and later Guðmundsson with marriage.
Children: 1. Ingrid Sesselja b. November 4, 1946 2. Wendy Herdís b. May 22, 1950.
Esther was the daughter of Ingvi Sveinn Eiríksson (Erickson) from N. Dakota and Herdís Kristjánsdóttir of Mýrasýsla, who lived in Arborg. André’s parents were Guðmundur S. Guðmundsson from Mosfell in Svínadal and Sesselja Jónasardóttir, early settlers in the Árdals settlement in Manitoba. Esther and Andrés lived for a number of years in Winnipeg, otherwise they lived in or near Arborg in New Iceland.
