Jónína Guðrún Jónsdóttir was born in Hensel, N. Dakota on March 2, 1895.
Spouse: February 17, 1917 Helgi Daníelsson b. in the Árnes settlement on September 24, 1891.
Children: 1. Jónína Guðrún Ingibjörg b. June 15, 1918 2. Sigurlína Hólmfríður b. November 16, 1920 3. Marvin Daniel b. January 17, 1921 4. Lilja Steinunn Sigurrós b. May 8, 1932.
Jónína’s parents were Jón Guðmundsson and Jónína Guðrún Símonardóttir, who came west in 1884 and took land in N. Dakota the same year. They moved north to the Geysir settlement in 1902 where they lived a long time. Helgi was the son of Daníel Daníelsson and María Ingibjörg, who came west in 1887 and settled in the Árnes settlement in New Iceland. He grew as tall as the grass there and later became a fisherman on Lake Winnipeg and also farmed near Gimli.
