Páll Eyjólfsson was born on November 16, 1858 in Reyðarfjörður, S. Múlasýsla. He died in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) on December 6, 1923.
Spouse: 1) September 26, 1888 Jónína Jónasdóttir b. in S. Múlasýsla on June 20, 1864, d. Wynyard on October 12, 1959. They divorced. 2) Þorbjörg Sveinsdóttir b. in Borgarfjarðarsýsla on April 13, 1850, d. in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) on March 6, 1930. She was known as Thorbjorg Sveinson in the west.

Páll finished elementary school in Iceland, went to Norway and studied agriculture. He then went home to Iceland, got married and sailed west across the ocean in 1893. The family first lived in Park River, N. Dakota; from there they moved to Kandahar in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1904.
