 Paul Wilberg Pálsson was born in Selkirk on February 25, 1905. He died in Winnipeg on October 1, 1959.

Paul was the son of Páll Guðmundsson Goodman and Ingíríður Magnúsdóttir, who came west around 1900. They settled in Selkirk, Manitoba, where Paul grew up. He went to school there, continued his studies and became an electrician. In 1927, he founded a company that took care of house wiring and monitoring it. Paul was considered a good hockey player and played professionally for several years. He lived in Winnipeg for many years and served on various city council committees. He was the chairman of a committee that organized traffic in the city and the beautification of the city’s two main streets.
