Anna was the daughter of Narfi Narfason and Jakobína Gróa Bjarnadóttir in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. Edwin’s parents were Narfi Narfason and Jakobína Gróa Bjarnadóttir early settlers in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. As a young man, Edwin moved to Winnipeg to study printing. He joined Viking Press in the city in 1939 and ten years later he merged the company with J. V. Heimskringla’s Samson printing house, which was then named Viking Printers. The partners then printed the newspaper until 1959.
