Ragnhildur Gísladóttir was born on March 22, 1886 in S. Múlasýsla.
Spouse: October 7, 1919 Stefán Guttormsson b. in Vopnafjörður in N. Múlasýsla on May 5, 1877. He died on December 5, 1959. He took the first name Stephan in the west.
Children: Foster daughters: 1. Sólrún b. 1915, d. 1929 2. Aurora Sigríður Gísladóttir, Ragnhildur’s brother’s daughter 3. Ragnheiður, Aurora’s sister.
Ragnhildur was the daughter of Gísli Jónsson and Sólrún Árnadóttir, who came west in 19o3 and settled near Wapah, Manitoba. Stefán came west in 1893 with his parents, Guttormur Þorsteinsson and María Birgitta Jósefsdóttir. They settled in Húsavík in New Iceland. He was well educated, completing a teacher’s degree in Winnipeg in 1904 and an engineering degree from the University of Manitoba in 1916.
