Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir was born on May 23, 1869 in S. Múlasýsla. She died on January 12, 1960 in the Lundar settlement.

Jón came west with his parents in 1878 and settled in New Iceland. Jón moved from there in 1880 and took land in the Park settlement in N. Dakota. He lived there 15 years, then moved north to Westbourne, Manitoba and then to Vogar on the north side of Lake Manitoba. They lived there four years but moved from there in 1909 to the Lundar settlement.
