Wilhelm M. Kristjánsson completed a BA degree and applied for a grant for further study abroad. In VÆÆ I page 230 there is the following review of his studies and work: “Studied at Oxford University, St. Catherine’s College 1925-26 (received I.O.D.P. Overseas Scholarship to study there). Graduated from University of Chicago Graduate School in 1927. Teacher and principal at Manitoba Collegiate Institute, Manitou, Man., 1930-37. Teacher at the Correspondence School of the Manitoba Department of Education from 1937, Senior Teacher from 1947. Lived in Winnipeg from 1937. Member of the Icelandic Canadian Club and president 1949-52. Vice-President of the Manitoba Government Employees Association 1952 and 1953. President of the National Club, Winnipeg, one year, Secretary of the same association two years. Member of the Unitarian Church in Winnipeg since 1954. On the board of the Western Canadian Unitarian Conference. Edited of Icelandic Canadian from 1956. Member of Canadian Legion, B.E.S.L., 1929-45 and Freemason (Fort Osborne Lodge) in Winnipeg from 1951. Member of the Technical Advisory Committee to the Manitoba Historic Sites Board (1946-48). Director 0f Education Unit, Manitoba Government Employees Association 1951 and 1952. Awarded the Coronation Medal for 20 years of military service. Editor of Vox Wesleyane (student publication at Wesley College, Winnipeg 1923-24). Glimpses of Oxford. The Icelandic People of Manitoba. Articles by him in The Icelandic Magazine of the Bison.
