They came west in 1903 to Winnipeg. They lived there until 1909 then moved onto land in the Hóla settlement. He retired from farming and moved to Winnipeg in 1913, opened a dairy west of the city, and ran it successfully for two years. They moved back to their land in the Hóla settlement but sold it in 1926 and went to Winnipeg and then west to Blaine soon after.
