Hallgrímur Berg Daníelsson was born in Gullbringusýsla on October 31, 1880.
Spouse: March 30, 1918 Anna Árnadóttir b. in Mountain, N. Dakota on March 24, 1890.
Children: 1. Árni b. June 14, 1919 2. Sigrún b. July 5, 1922, d. December 14, 1944.
Hallgrímur came to the West in 1885 with his parents, Daníel Grímsson and Sigríður Þorsteinsdóttir. They settled in the Garðar settlement in N. Dakota and there Hallgrímur grew up. In 1906, he moved to the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan where he was a store owner and also the Post Master in Mozart. He moved from there to N. Dakota where he farmed near Mountain. He took an active part in community affairs, was secretary of the church committee in his village and taught in the Sunday school. He was also secretary of the Icelandic club, Báran, for 10 years and its president for 2. Anna was the daughter of Árni Friðbjarnarson and Guðrún Magnúsdóttir.
