Guðfinna Bjarnadóttir was born April 26, 1866 in Austur-Skaftafellssýsla. Dáin April 14, 1952 at Betel in Gimli.

Children: 1. Bjarni Heiðmar b. July 11, 1901 2. Samúel Þórarinn b. October 20, 1902. 3. Rose b. April 11, 1906.
They emigrated to Winnipeg,Manitoba in 1903 and went to Baldur. After some time there they moved to Hnausa Settlement in New Iceland and later from there to Icelandic River Settlement where Björn died. Guðfinna, mother of three young children, struggled for a while with support from neighbors. Later she moved to Arborg where she was a housekeeper and from there for a similar work in Cavalier in N. Dakota. She returnrd to Arborg where Bjarni Heiðmar built her a home. She married for the second time but eventually moved to Gimli.
