She was a widow when she came west in 1902 and settled in the Argyle Settlement. She came with her two daughters: 1. Aðalbjörg born at Tjörnes 1897 2. Kristín born at Geitafell in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1899. A third daughter, Guðrún, was born in the west in 1904.
