Þorbjörg emigrated with Jón, Björn and Þorsteinn to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887 and Ísleifur came west with his son Ísleifur in 1888. The settled in Gimli in New Iceland where they lived until 1891 when they bought land in Argylebyggð and moved there that same year. Moved from there to Glenboro in 1911.
