Jónas Jónsson: Born in Lýtingsstaðahreppa in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1848. He died on May 30, 1917 in the Argyle Settlement.

Jónas emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and moved on to the Fljóts Settlement in New Iceland. Kristfríður traveled with her father and stepson in 1887 to the Argyle Settlement. Although Jónas was one of the first settlers in the Fljóts Settlement, he did not stay there long before moving to High Bluff. He lived there until 1884 when he took land in the Argyle Settlement and lived there for a long length of time before moving south to Belmont.
