Children: Steinþór b. October 21, 1881, d. 1935. They took Guðbjörg Jónsdóttir b. 1883 as their fosterdaugher. She was the daughter of Jón Jónasson and Kristjana Ólafsdóttir from Hrísum in Helgafellssveit. Jón emigrated west in 1882, Kristjana a year later, and Guðbjörg in 1889.
They emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887 and lived there until 1891. They settled in Mikley and farmed there until 1903. Later, the road took them to the Lundar Settlement.
