Snorri came west in 1873 and worked in Wisconsin as a farmer for a few years. In 1876 he moved west and took land in the Lyon County Settlement in Minnesota. He moved off his land and into Minneota in 1890. Vilborg came west with her brother, Jón Jónatansson in 1873. They first lived in Wisconsin and later moved to the Lyon County Settlement in Minnesota.
