They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and settled in the Árnes Settlement in New Iceland. They took land south of Gimli, naming it Engimýri. After two years, they moved up to Mikley where they took land, naming this farm Fagratún. They moved in 1882 to Winnipeg.
