They emigrated west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887 and settled in Selkirk. They moved to New Iceland in 1888 and lived on the farm Brautarholt in the Víðirnes Settlement. They lived there for five years, but in 1893 they moved to Völlum in the same settlement.
