Eyjólfur Einarsson was born in S. Múlasýsla on September 3, 1842. He died in 1908 at Eyjólfsstaðir in New Iceland.
Spouse: 1881 Þóranna Björnsdóttir b. in the same sýsla in 1858, d. in Arborg in 1955.
Children: 1. Björn b. 1882 2. Sveinbjörg b. on the journey west, d. young 3. Sveinn b. October 27, 1885 4. Ingibjörg b. in Arborg 1884 5. Halldóra b. at Eyjólfsstaðir 1888 6. Guðlaug b. They came west in 1884 and lived the first years at Reynivellir in the Fljóts settlement. The road took them to Mikley, they stayed there for two years and finally they settled in the Geysir community in 1888. They named their land Eyjólfsstaðir.
