Ásgeir Friðgeirsson: Born on October 17, 1861 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. He died in early 1938 at the Betel care home in Gimli.
Spouse: Þorbjörg Hákonardóttir b. June 2, 1865 in Barðastrandarsýsla, d. April 14, 1951 in Gimli.
Children. 1. Gísli Þórður (Fred Fridgerson) b. February 4, 1899 2. Jóhanna Anna b. 1905, d. August 20, 1935 in Gimli.
They seem to have married in the late 1800s and moved west before the turn of the century. They took land in the Geysir Settlement, but they were not suited for farming and they moved off the land to Árborg. Asgeir worked there as a blacksmith and in trading despite a serious illness, he was paralyzed in both feet. From there, Asgeir and Þorbjörg, and two of their grown children moved south to California in 1923.
