Ásmundur settled in Geysir Settlement. Sources in Canada have no records of his background. Kristín arrived in the settlement with her parents in 1901 from N. Dakota. She lived on the farm with her daughters until 1920 when she was hired as a housekeeper for Sveinn Thorvaldson in Riverton. He became her second husband.
