Halldór Eyjólfsson: was born in 1878 in S. Múlasýsla. He was known as Halldor Josef Nicholson in the west. He died on Jan. 17, 1910 in Lyon County, Minnesota.
Spouse: Elísabet Gunnlaugsdóttir b. 1877 in Minnesota. She died in March 1929 of a stroke in Hudson, Wisconsin. She is buried in the Westerheim Pioneer Cemetery.

Halldór was a year old when he emigrated west with his parents in 1879. They travelled to Minneota, Minnesota where Halldór grew up. He married the daughter of Gunnlaugur Pétursson of Hákonarstadir in the Lyon County Settlement and took over the farm after Gunnlaugur died. He received the J. J. Hill prize for the best managed farm. After Halldór‘s death, Elísabet taught school in Minneota for a few years.
