Sveinn was a printer in Reykjavík and emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1903 and worked as a printer at Lögberg in the city. He moved to Minneota, Minnesota was a printer for the Vínland and Minneota Mascot. He retuned to Winnipeg and printed the Lögberg from 1909-1911 and then went west to Wynyard, Saskatchewan and published the Wynyard Advance for 12 years. He later worked as a printer in Wisconsin, Minneapolis, and then back in Winnipeg.
