Gísli Jónsson was born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1839. He took the last name Dalman in the west. He died in Alberta in 1892.
Spouse: 1873 Karólína Jónsdóttir born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1845, d. 1921 in Winnipeg.
Children: 1. Jón 2. Páll 3. Konráð 4. Valdemar. They also lost three daughters and a son.
Gísli and Karólína emigrated west to Canada in 1873 and traveled on to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They lived there a few years but were in the Shawano Settlement by 1875. They lived there until 1880 when they moved to the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota and bought land. They continued to move and in 1888 they were in Markerville, Alberta. They were there until 1892 and were preparing to move to Vernon, British Columbia. They were on their way, but Gísli died in Calgary. Karólína made it to the final destination. She lived there four years, but in 1896 she moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
