Magnús Brynjólfsson was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1827. Died in Tillamook, Oregon.
Spouse: Elísabet Klemensdóttir b. 1837 in Húnavatnssýsla.
Children: 1. Sigríður b. 1865 2. Klemens Brynjólfur b. 1869. They lost three children prior to Sigrúður’s birth. Magnús had children earlier, Jósías b. 1853 and Klementína Ingibjörg b. 1863 with Jóhanna Jónsdóttir.
They emigrated west to Canada in 1875 while their son Jósías had emigrated a year earlier. They family settled in Markland, Nova Scotia, calling their farm Bólstaðarhlíð. The family later moved west to N. Dakota and eventually to Oregon. Travelling with them to Nova Scotia was Elísabet’s sister, Ingibjörg Guðrún, and her children Kristjana Margrét b. 1864 and Jónas Steinn b. 1866. Their father was Guðmundur Einarsson.
