Jason Þórðarson was born on December 25, 1836 in Húnavatnssýsla. Died September 14, 1911 in Red Deer, Alberta in the home of his daughter, Guðbjörg and her family.

Spouse: Anna Jóhannesdóttir b. 1836 in Húnavatnssýsla, d. either in Iceland or on the way to Canada.

Jason settled in Ontario, Canada in 1874, along with Jóhannes his son and his daughters, Anna Ingibjörg and Ingunn. Guðbjörg and Steinunn emigrated to N. Dakota around 1880. Jason stayed in Ontario until the fall of 1875, then moved west to New Iceland and lived there until 1879 when they moved to the Sand Hill Settlement in N. Dakota. Jason moved to Milton before heading north to Manitoba just after the turn of the century. His son, Jóhannes was with him and together,  in 1907-1910, they moved to their land near Mozart in Lakes Settlement in Saskarchewan.
