Árni Árnason was born in the Westmann Islands (Vestmannaeyjar) on February 21, 1855. He died on July 16, 1931. He was known as Outney Johnson in Utah.
Spouse: Solveig Þórdís Jórunn b. April 24, 1858 in the Westmann Islands. She died on April 6, 1920.
Children: 1. Sveinsína Aðalbjörg b. December 25, 1877; d. December 13, 1969. 2. Oscar Mathew b. February 7, 1894
They emigrated west to Spanish Fork, Utah in 1880 and arrived there on May 21. Arni worked at the railway, but he also helped farmers shearing and was good at it. He struggled for a while to accept the Western world, but with the help of his Mormon brothers, he overcame the homesickness and built himself a good and happy life.
