Bjarni, Sæmundur and Sesselja emigrated west to Utah in 1886 and settled in Spanish Fork. The son Bjarni had emigrated with his wife, Guðríður Þorsteinsdóttir, in 1880. Katrín did not emigrate and died in Iceland on November 21, 1908.
