Finnbogi Björnsson was born in Rangárvallasýsla in February 14, 1855. He died in Spanish Fork on April 20, 1939. He took the name Tim Bearnson in Utah:

November 18, 1843, d.  September 25, 1932 4) Þórunn Gísladóttir b. June 22, 1848. A Utah source says he married these women, which is a misunderstanding because they were all his children’s mothers. See below.  5) May 1, 1885 Josephine Marie Christine Jensen (Mary) widow in Spanish Fork, d. 1925.

Finnbogi was baptized into the Mormon Church in Iceland by the missionary Pétur Valgarðsson on June 28, 1883 and accompanied him west to Spanish Fork, Utah on July 14, 1883. There he first lived for a time with his father’s sister, Vigdís Björnsdóttir, as she emigrated there in 1857. Like most of his countrymen in Spanish Fork, Finnbogi first got a job with farmers near the town and also worked with the railway. He also worked as a miner.
