Guðríður Wúlfsdóttir was born in the Westmann Islands (Vestmannaeyjar) on April 26, 1858. She died on December 8, 1933 in Spanish Fork. She took the name Gudridur W. Johnson in the west.

Guðríður’s father was Danish and named Woolf. Her last name was Úlfsdóttir according to western Icelandic sources, but is listed as Wúlfsdóttir in Iceland. They emigrated west to Spanish Fork, Utah in 1886.
