Stefán Jóhannes Þorláksson was born in S. Múlasýsla on October 30, 1844. Died in 1892 in Saskatchewan.

Stefán moved to Vestmannaeyjar in 1861. He and Jóhanna moved to Copenhagen in 1874 and lived there 5 years before moving to Akureyri. Stefán emigrated west alone in 1887, while Jóhanna emigrated with the children in 1888. They first lived in Bleufeldville near New York, but then moved to Churchbridge, Saskatchewan.
